BULLET REMOVED!
Ruby Cintron Has New Year’s Day Bullet Successfully Removed; Law Enforcement to
Run Ballistic Tests
WEST PALM BEACH, FL 3:02 P.M. EST—Consejo de Latinos Unidos has just learned
that Ruby Cintron, the woman shot in the eye by a stray bullet on New Year’s
Eve, had the bullet successfully removed from her skull this afternoon.
Surgeons are now working on repairing and hopefully restoring her version on
Cintron, who is still undergoing surgery.
Law enforcement officials have picked up the bullet for ballistic tests.
Dr. Salomon Malgen performed the procedure to remove the bullet. Now, he will
remove blood located inside the eyeball and fill it with silicon oil in an
attempt to save some of the vision in Cintron’s badly injured eye.
The Consejo de Latinos Unidos, a national non-profit organization that educates
and assists the uninsured is paying for Cintron’s treatment.
IMPORTANT MEDIA CONTACT:
Ernesto Pichardo, Member Board of Directors of the Consejo de Latinos Unidos, is
on-site at the surgery center and can be reached at 305-801-7885.
